Welcome to International Peacelight USA

This website was created by Scouting volunteers to provide information about the International Peacelight program and distribution plans in 2009.  The Peacelight from Bethlehem arrived in NYC from Vienna, Austria at JFK International Airport on Friday, December 4, 2009.  A Welcome Ceremony was held at Our Lady of The Skies Chapel, Terminal Four, JFK International Airport, Queens NY soon after the arrival of the Peacelight on an Austrian Airlines flight.

All individuals or organizations are invited to participate in this ongoing project which encourages Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts worldwide to take a leadership role in the promotion of a  Peaceful existance for all by distributing the Peacelight flame to as a gift to as many people who understand its meaning and are willing to accept it or pass it on to others.

In the USA, the International Peacelight from Bethlehem Project is coordinated by a Committee associated with the International Division of the Boy Scouts of America. 2010 Marks the 100 Anniversary of Scouting in the United States of America.  We hope the Peacelight can be an important part of the Anniversary Celebrations throughout the year.  We are excited that Scouting Volunteers from several countries are distributing the Peace Light in the USA, Canada, Mexico and South America in 2009.

The Peacelight has arrived at Fort Bragg, NC as a gift to all who serve our Country in the Armed Forces that we appreciate their service, especially those who are away from home or who have lost family members in the service to our Nation this year.
